Located in Southeast Portland, Oregon, Brooklyn Preschool was founded in 1971, on the belief that children and parents benefit from a shared learning atmosphere. We foster community and a shared responsibility for our children, while playing an active role in their preschool
experience.About Brooklyn Preschool →
A cooperative preschool is a parent-run preschool, in which the school’s member-families offer classroom support, in addition to taking on a family job that contributes toward the school’s day-to-day operations.
Teacher Merry has been leading classes at Brooklyn Preschool for nearly 14 years! Before that she was a parent-teacher in our Brooklyn classrooms, when her two daughters were in preschool. She even attended a cooperative preschool in North Portland herself, as a child.
Age-eligible students can enroll at Brooklyn Preschool any time we have an opening in one of our classes. We currently have openings in our Dragonflies class for the 2020-21 school year. For our Jellyfish and Lions classes, waitlist spots are available.
Applicants are considered for the waitlist when both the application is completed and application fee is paid. Please note that priority registration is given to returning students and alumni families.
Admission to Brooklyn Preschool is made without regard to race, ability, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, or sexual orientation.
