Located in Southeast Portland, Oregon, Brooklyn Preschool was founded in 1971, on the belief that children and parents benefit from a shared learning atmosphere. We foster community and a shared responsibility for our children, while playing an active role in their preschool

Fall Enrollment: We are now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year! Learn more here.
A cooperative preschool is a parent-run preschool, in which the school’s member-families offer classroom support, in addition to taking on a family job that contributes toward the school’s day-to-day operations.
Teacher Merry has been leading classes at Brooklyn Preschool for nearly 15 years! Before that she was a parent-teacher in our Brooklyn classrooms, when her two daughters were in preschool. She even attended a cooperative preschool in North Portland herself, as a child.
We are currently enrolling for the 2021-2022 school year starting in the Fall! Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis through the summer and into the start of the school year, as space allows. Waitlists will be compiled for all classes that have reached capacity.
In order for your application to be considered, we require a $25 fee paid at the time of application. Please use the PayPal button below.
Once your application has been accepted and you have been offered a spot, you will be invoiced for the $195 registration and supply fee to hold your family’s place. In years past, this fee has been non-refundable but we understand there’s continued uncertainty in a pandemic, so this fee will be partially refundable up until our member orientation meeting on May 25, 2021.
The $25 application fee can be paid by clicking on the “Pay Now” button below.
2020-2021 Cooperative Connections Program
We are currently in Phase 2 of our Cooperative Connections program. For the 2020-21 school year we are assessing enrollment based on family risk tolerance preferences and currently enrolling students who are ready to join us for the school year starting in Phase 2. Click here for more information about the 2020-21 school year.
Applicants can choose to be waitlisted if enrollment is at capacity. Applicants are considered for the waitlist when both the application is completed and application fee is paid. Please note that priority registration is given to returning students and alumni families.
Admission to Brooklyn Preschool is made without regard to race, ability, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, or sexual orientation.
